The Valley of Ashes: Archaeology of the American Psyche is an immersive installation that transforms recent real-world events into a navigable spatial archive. Using photogrammetry and 3D scanning, visiting artist Niko Koppel captured ephemeral artifacts and environments shaped by natural disaster and social unrest. These digitally preserved scenes were translated into physical sculptures: modern fossils that evoke the poetic and surreal sensation of walking the Las Vegas Strip as if it were Pompeii.
